User Group

A user group is essential for a learning disability charity to ensure that the organisation remains person-centred, responsive, and effective in its mission to support individuals with a learning disability. It also empowers the very people it aims to help and advocates for their rights and well-being.

SMDSSG has previously run focus groups and conducted surveys to hear members views and we now want to build on that with a user group to help guide our work and hear the voice of members. People with Down's syndrome are experts by experience, and they know what life is like for them. We need to listen to them and hear what they have to say and involve them in the decision-making of the organisation.

Our user group pilot is up and running with our wonderful facilitator, Rhoda. The remaining dates for the pilot are:

Tuesday 29th October

Tuesday 26th November
